New Engine Lead Mine (United Kingdom)


The shaft at this mine was the deepest of the Peak distruict Lead mines reaching 1092ft. The engine as installed was built by Davy Bros in Sheffield and was installed in 1863. It pumped from the deep workings lifting the water up to Stoke Sough. The mine was last worked in 1884.
