Mt Carbine Wolframite Mine (Australia)

Australia's largest tungsten mine worked by open cut methods. The ore, wolfram and scheelite in a greisen bordered quartz vein system was sorted by photometric methods during the operation which closed in the late 1980s. There are new plans to reopen the mine and develop an underground operation. See http://www.iconresources.com.au/
