Mount Osborne (Southern Section) Coal Colliery (United Kingdom)

Ordnance Survey maps show Mount Osborne Colliery on two sites separated by about 700m. This entry relates to the southern section which was very close to the Barnsley Football Club's Oakwell football ground. Marked as disused on the 192 map (see Archive Album for 1850 map extract). The 1852 Barnsley town plan shows this site to be connected to canal staithes at Hoyle Mill by a tramway running beside Pontefract Road.
