A number of different names for this mine appears in various sources. Including: South Moor Colliery; Holmside and South Moor Collieries (Morrison Pit); Louisa Colliery (Morrison Pit). It is a seperate surface position to and pre-dates Morrison Busty Pit, although connected underground.
The mine comprised of North Pit, South Pit and Pumping (Steam Sump) Pit
