The Mire(y) Close Mines is a group of veins which lie on the north side of the River Lathkill and opposite Alport Smelting Mill.

The Mire(y) Close Vein ranges from Long Rake near Raper Mine, heading southeast to the River Lathkill.

Soft (Great) Rake is close to Mire Close Vein and runs parallel with it.

Roberts Vein trends northeast from Dark Lane to Wheels Rake, north of Baltic Wood.

Other veins in the location include Cobblers Vein, Old Dale Vein and Needhams/Hoosons or Soft Level Vein.

The southeast end and sough location is approx SK 22270 64900.
