Mina Rosita Vieja Coal Mine (Mexico)


The Mina Rosita Vieja disaster was the worst disaster in Mexico's coal mining history It occurred on February 27, 1908 when a huge explosion rocked the Rosita Vieja Coal Mine near the town of San Juan de Sabinas, Coahuila. The explosion led to the deaths of 200 miners in shaft No. 2. the mine boss was Harry Turner,there were a first explosion ,the next day Mr. Turner went into the mine to lead the rescue work,a second explosion killed him.
