The site is located alongside the River Lathkill and on Long Rake / Ladies Vein. The shaft being 14 fathoms (25.6m) deep and worked by Water Wheel from the river.
Today the site is fairly overgrown, however old OS maps and slight surface evidence suggest the water was taken from the weir upstream, across the path to the west side of the enclosure. There is the hint of a narrow lip seen heading south from the footpath (north of the enclosure). The shaft position being hard to distinguish although two possible sites include an embankment (overgrown) above the path and a rough hollow beside the path.
