Margaret (Peggy Pit) (Newbottle Mines) Coal Colliery (United Kingdom)

The Newbottle Group of Collieries started off as continuations of the Success Colliery, although many Bell Pits were in the area predating the Success Pit, some shafts were left open for ventilation etc. The Three basic Mines were Success, nearby Margaret Pit, and the Dorothea Pit which later continued on to Herrington New Pit. The Newbottle Mines was one of the oldest in the area itself liked to the Lambton Group of Mines which included Houghton Colliery.
