The Lumley group of mines which includes a number of shafts (The Durham Mining Museum http://www.dmm.org.uk/colliery/l009.htm ) lists all the way up to the 9th pit and also includes Stobbs Hill, West Pit and George Pit. There was also thought to be a Drift? which is unusual for this area.
The 1st Pit sinking dates from the 1790s whilst the 6th Pit (the most successful) appears to have been around the late 1800s, The grid ref is used for the 3rd Pit. which was actually marked disused 1896 map but was substantially updated by 1919 map gaining a new shaft (west Pit) only to be completely cleared by 1938 map.
