Kalibergwerk Bleicherode Potash Mine (Germany)


The Kalibergwerk Bleicherode, a former Potash mine near Nordhausen in the state of Thuringia in what was the GDR (East Germany) - the surface buildings are now preserved as a museum. It's locate just to the northeast of the town of Bleicherode (lat 51.452423 long 10.598116

Parts of it are used for underground disposal of mining and non-mining waste (e.g. toxic wastes) by a company by the name of NDHE.

The headframes are on von Velsen shafts I and II
