Joanna Iron Smelter (United States)


Joanna Furnace is a historic remnant of Burks County early iron industry. The furnace was built in 1791 by: Samuel Potts, Thomas Bull, Thomas May, and Thomas Rutter III. The Hay Creek Historical Organization has done a wonderful job restoring the site.
