Jingler (Rolley) Lead Mine (United Kingdom)


This started as a lead mine and was known as Rolley Mine up to about 1850. but was latterly worked for Fluorspar reaching a depth of 75m. During the 1920's a wooden headframe was erected which was only removed in 1979. The shaft is now covered with a concrete cap.
The buildings at the shaft were corrugated and the steam winder unusuall as the cylinders were either side of the winding drum.
