Jenny Lind Colliery Coal Mine (United Kingdom)

The owner of this pit named it after the Swedish opera singer who no doubt would have been surprised to know she had not only a type of locomotive but a coal mine named after her. Opened around 1855-56 and closed by 1894. There were 58 men at work underground in 1869 and 1872.
