Hunsbury Hill Iron Mine (United Kingdom)


Opened in 1870s (though earlier workings are recorded in area) by Northampton Coal Iron & Wagon Co, operated by various companies inc Hunsbury Hill Iron Co from 1888, finally Richard Thomas & Co from 1936. The mines had actually been closed during 1921 and laid idle until 1936 only to be dismantled by the new owners.
