Hollin Busk (Hollinsbusk) Ganister Mine (United Kingdom)

Hollin Busk Fire Clay Mine and Colliery.
Hi above the town of Deepcar at the GR given is a shaft hillock with a squat square brick built head gear with a single wheel. There is no trace of a winder but the mountings for a winch can be seen next to the headgear, the winch was there until recently but has disappeared. The shaft has a concrete cap.
This is the only fireclay shaft to survive in the Deepcar area. It is supposed to have reached Coal at 108ft and Pot Clay at 261ft.
It is not known when the mine was sunk or when the headgear described above was built or last used.
