Hazard Colliery (North Hetton Colliery) Coal Mine (United Kingdom)

There were three Mines by the original North Hetton Coal Company, The nearby Dun Well Pit (There is little known about this mine but is predicted it was possibly the 1st Pit then as the workings progressed South a need for ventilation so The Hazard Pit was Sunk. The third Pit was the Moorsley Pit (see http://www.aditnow.co.uk/mines/North-Hetton-Colliery-Coal-Mine/?gowhere=%2fmines%2f%3fpid%3d1%26ac%3dA%26ad%3d50 ) This mine was started in 1818 and closed in the 1930s however just like the Dun Well pit relics of of buildings survived until the early 1980s when the whole area was landscaped, today heavy tree planting has coved any signs of its past. more details here http://www.dmm.org.uk/colliery/h026.htm
