A small mine up a side ravine below Roughton gill mine. reputed to have been worked my the germans the first documented evidence of a mine here is in 1785 and worked till 1792 the hay gill mining company took up the lease in 1839. the mine was finally abandoned around 1874. haveing produced a recorded output of 20 tons of copper and 5 tons of lead
