Greengates Lead Mine (United Kingdom)


Greengates Mine is located on the Field Grove vein near Sheldon, and is known to have been worked from the later 18th Century onwards. It was incorporated into the Field Grove title in 1841. The remains on site include a well-preserved winding shaft 170ft deep and a nearby climbing shaft in the remains of a coe.
