Great Wheal Fortune Tin Mine (United Kingdom)

Worked 1855 to 1880. Output:
2,992 tons of tin, 322 tons of copper, as well as some tungsten and arsenic. The mine worked lodes in the valley near Trelissick and Carnmeal Downs.
Their are some large opencast workings on a series of lodes known as the 'Conquer Branches'.
The shafts, dumps and dressing floors etc are East of the stream through the valley and were hidden by vegetation. Amazingly an old stamps frames survives in situ in the valley as does the huge Wheal fortune openwork.
