Gelleirin Lead Mine (United Kingdom)

About a kilometre along the track leading uphill east from the Rheidol Power Station Visitor Centre is a tip which lies downhill from the larger "Stag" shaped tip to the mine. Above this lower tip is an adit which runs about 125 metres to a total collapse, presumable at the intersection with the vein. Just before this is an opening on the right, partially blocked with deads, which opens into the side of a shaft. A considerable draft blows outwards through here so the shaft is either open or connects with other workings that lead to day.
