Friar's Goose (Tyne Main) Coal Mine (United Kingdom)

There were two pits at this colliery, the Engine Pit commence sinking 1798 and the William Pit in 1841. From 1842 the owners of the neighbouring Felling, Walker, Wallsend, Willington and Heaton Collieries all contributed towards the costs of running the pumping engine at Friar's Goose for the work it did in keeping their own workings unwatered.
