Feldon Lead Smelt Mill (United Kingdom)


In the 16th century the rights to mine silver in this area was given to the Duke of Buckingham. Feldon Smelt Mill was built in the 17th century to smelt the ore. In 1725 the rights were sold to the London Lead Company who worked here until the 19th century. The remains of the mill include a system of dams and channels to power the water wheel.
