Cullinan Diamond (Premier) Diamond Mine (South Africa)


Diamond mine. It's where the world's largest gem was found.
Probably the most famous of diamond mines, and the birthplace of the largest gem quality diamond ever found. The Cullinen diamond as it was first called, weighed in at a staggering 3106.75 Carats = to 603.35 grams or 1.37lbs.
The stone was bought by the Transvaal government and presented to Edward VII on his birthday.
