Description (based on British Mining No.47 (Alston Moor))
The level is driven from the side of the River Nent, on the opposite bank to Nentsberry (Haggs) Engine Shaft. It turned onto the line of Black Ashgill Cross Vein after approx. 600 feet and continued southwest to Grassfield Vein. The level is 2100 feet long with trials in the North and Grassfield Veins in the Four Fathom Limestone, although little ore was found.
The name of Magazine Level applies to its later use.
