Cracow (Golden Plateau) Gold Mine (Australia)

A new underground 100,000 oz pa gold mine operated by Newcrest Mining Ltd adjacent to the old Golden Plateau group of workings. The gold mineralisation is in fine grained epithermal style quartz veins. Golden Plateau was worked from the early 1930s and as an open cut in the 1980s. A number of new lodes were discovered in the late 1990s and early 2000s and formed the basis of the new operation.
