Cowdale (Staden) Limestone Quarry (United Kingdom)

20th century quarry and lime kiln located at the side of the A6 just to the east of Buxton, worked from c.1900 up to 1950. Notable for its unusual neo-Egyptian style buildings, the quarry formerly had a rail link which crossed the dale, the bridge supports are still visible from the A6.
