Clearwell Caves is the name given to the older upper workings of a series of interconnected workings including 'Old Ham' 'New Dunn' and 'Wigpool' amongst others.These, and deeper levels of Clearwell itself can be explored by contacting the owner Ray Wright or his son Jonathan at Clearwell Caves.

The mine still works extracting ochre on a limited commercial basis to use as a colouring agent.
