Claytons Ground Lead Mine (United Kingdom)

This site is located along the western end of Moss Rake. The site comprises a compact area including part of the walls of a coe, a large square buddle with a narrow stone outlet and two adjoining sunken features which may be relating to some pumps. To the south of this is a circular depression with a smaller circular depression in the centre - this is likely to be a crushing circle and the inner circle the position of the centre stone. To the west of the buddle is a flattish area which may be part of the ore processing or dressing floor.
