Cathole Lead Mine (United Kingdom)


Also worked for zinc, large scale mining at Cathole comenced about 1820 by 'Cathole and Gwernymynydd Mines' with evidence on smaller scale workings before that date. Laterly operated by 'John Taylor & Co' between 1825 & 1845.
Operations on this site must have gone into decline in 1897 when the beam engine was removed, the mine finally closing in 1904
