A number of small mines and trials in the vicinity of and actually within Dow Cave have been documented and surveyed extensively by Steve Warren.
They have however somehow evaded inclusion in the Aditnow database for many years.
Little historical evidence has come to light on the name or origin of these workings and they have been variously named by the cavers as :-
Treacle Mine
Dribble Mine
Stemple Rift Mine Series
Rattle and Sploosh
Dove 'Cave'
