Cardiff Coal Colliery (Australia)

One of the signposted sites on the recently opened Lewis Thomas Heritage Trail on Blackstone Hill, east of Ipswich. The Ispwich City Council has gone to no small expense developing an interesting set of signposted tracks, and trails joining up some of the key sites in this old coal mining area. It's good to see some acknowledgment of the coal-mining heritage of the town, arguably the birthplace of Queensland industry. A trail guide is also available.
