Bower Ganister Mine (United Kingdom)

Old Gansister mine north west of Sheffield. Initially opened as a coal mine in the late 1800s, it reopened as a ganister mine in 1910. Entered via a drift entrance, the mine was short lived as it closed circa 1940. The ganister was trammed out in tubs pulled by donkeys before being loaded into lorries.
