Opened by G.E.Bevan & Co Ltd in 1863, owned by P.Phipps post 1900 up to when output went to Sth Wales (Plymouth, Tredegar etc Ironworks). Post takeover output went to Hunsbury. The pits ceased working in Jan 1921.
