Blair Athol No. 4 Coal Colliery (Australia)
The Blair Athol Coal Mine at Mount Victoria was the 4th Mine owned by the Blair Athol Coal & Timber company. The mine adit runs for 300 metres downwards at an angle of 15 degrees. The last 100 metres of the tunnel is flooded. The 5' high coal seam was approached from the south because access to the railway was easier. There were plans to build a branch railway down to the mine.
Coal Haulage used similar techniques to those used Port Kembla mines.
The mine operated from 1920 until 1923. According to scuba divers who have explored the mine, there are several mine skips near the end of the tunnel.
