Bitholmes Lead Mine (United Kingdom)


Sheffield's only extant lead mine, worked in sandstone in the 18th Century, and financed by the Thornhills of Stanton Hall. Broomhead Mine was also further up the Ewden Valley, but the remains are now submerged beneath the reservoir.
