Balmain Colliery (Sydney Harbour) Coal Mine (Australia)


Colliery in central Sydney beneath Sydney Harbour. Coal was produced between 1897 and 1931 from two shafts called the Birthday and Jubilee. The maximum depth was 2900', the deepest coal mine in Australia.
