An ancient Minoan quarry.
To the north of the village of Ambelouzosis is a unique subterranean quarry of limestone, called Labyrinth, because it was believed to be the mythical prison of the monster Minotaur. Most ashlar masonry of Gortyn has come out of this quarry. In the walls of the quarry one can see inscriptions of the visitors.
