That is very similar to what I remember at Wheal Jane in 1980. I think the Wheal Jane units had a square tank.

I was told a story about one unfortunate user being propelled at speed along the track by a loco. He was obviously not in a position to do anything except hang on to the conveniently placed grab handles.



I'd assumed they were "straining" handles.



Dual purpose handles, ttxela.

Obviously a proper ergonomic design, with contrasting colours for enhanced visibility.
