Thanks Dickie for up loading this plan.
As I mentioned on a previous thread, this particular version has part of the upper Weardale mining area added onto it.
Other versions, stop at the County boundary.
Peter and I have speculated why there are two versions of the plan, and I am wondering if other contributers could put forward their ideas?
These area plans are very useful as they enable us to hazard a guess when certain adits were driven eg Capelcleugh level clearly must have been driven in part from this date to the early 20th century, for what is shown in 1882 does not resemble what we have today.
