Agreed, it's defninately a good book especially for beginners, some of the walks are a bit tricky to follow from the book.

Yeah , I would like to see High Rake added now that the excavation has been completed.

You gonna right any more reviews? Other ones for Peaks I have are Lathkill Dale Mines and Miners and Ecton Copper mines, which I think are both good books.
I went in a mine once.... it was dark and scary..... full of weirdos

When do I get my soapbox, I need to rant on about some b***cks

The next review I'm working on is volume 1 of Jim Riewuert's latest book, which is definitely the one you want for the history of the Peak District lead mines. Once that's done, I'll think about doing both the main Ecton book and the one that focuses on the rich period of working in the late 18th century - I don't currently have the modern version of the Mandale book, only the original which I keep meaning to rectify..... 🙂

Disclaimer: Mine exploring can be quite dangerous, but then again it can be alright, it all depends on the weather. Please read the proper disclaimer.
