I'm sure PDMHS won't mind me posting a link for you all to have a look at something I've been playing about with.

I got into taking these bubble panoramas around 1996 before the advent of affordable digital cameras and the pain of having to scan multiple photos to digitise them and then stitch them together using the original Panorama Tools. Things have come a long way and now not only can you create these 360 panoramas on the fly but also create video too.

There has been a plethora of 360 cams coming onto the market in the last year with varying degrees of success when it comes to stitching images together. In some cases launch dates and some equipment have been shelved or delayed.

Currently the market leader is the Ricoh Theta S followed closely by the LG 360 Cam, which has recently had a software update resulting in very good stitching and image rendition. This is the camera used for the images/video in the link here.

Once I've sorted some means of creating 360 degree LED lighting I might try lowering the kit down shafts etc, we'll see. Should provide some interesting views.

The home page gives you some pointers as to the content and usage. Please remember the video file is big (347.5 mb). Also you must have a modern browser i.e. Chrome or Firefox. IE is not really supported I'm told.

Peter.
