Patchcroft Pit (Furnace Pit Chimney)

Another surviving Furnace Pit Chimney near Haigh in the Wigan Coal Field, recently conserved. There is pond in the wood as well as base of a brick building close to chimney, there is also an inclined embankment that could be to a heapstead tho no sign of shaft was found. There are the remains of a tramway/railway into the site!
