Basset & Grylls Visit
Visit to Tyacks Pumping Engine House and later concrete buildings dating from 1920s re-working, views include mill site with concrete buddles, raised tramway stansions, crusher base, heapstead & hoper remains.
At the nearby Star Inn is a wishing well which is in actual fact a shaft. The drum of the windlass is made from a prop recovered after a blow-out from a flooded shaft.... the ex farmer who supplied it told me this to my face!!!
